| What a day! | | Ok today we had to go out to return a few items at the store, then had a dental appointment that lasted forever![em]rolleyes[/em] We went to the mall since I got a $10 voucher from JCPenney for merchandise. I bought a pair of pants and a shirt for one of my sons since he was the only one who needed an extra outfit. As we walked through the mall they were having a some kind of event that was free. Ok you filled out a card, visited four booths to get their signature and picked a pair of jeans donated by Goodwill for someone. In the center of the whole event they had mini hamburgers, Pizza bagel bites, brownies, meatballs, cookies, margita slushes (non-alcoholic) and cranberry juice, piece of bread with something on it[b][i]totally free[/i][/b]![em]shocked[/em] You could eat as much as you wanted without paying as long as you spent times in the center of the mall. I couldn't believe it but we ate these little gourmet appetizers for nothing![em]drool[/em] I don't have to cook dinner now because the kids are full. I told my husband that we were blessed. Who would have ever thought there was free food at the mall. | |
| | darn it, I got the job. | | Well I got the job. I'm actually a bit freaked out, because I haven't worked for 10 years. Anyway, it will help pay the bills while hubby tries to find something.
Does anyone out there work for JC Penney? I'll be full-time. I was wondering what kind of percentage the company contributes for benefits? I'm sure I'll find out eventually, but I need to make a decision...do I pay for COBRA (the governemnt pays 65%) or do I sign up for the company package? i once told a mother her child just took something and put it in his pocket. she said oh again and just walked out the store with out doing anything about it, i couldn't beleive it | |

| JC Penneys or Walmart? | | My mom used to have a JC Penney card, and for holidays she would give me a gift card to the store. One year she gave me a $300 gift card to buy my son his back to school clothes. I was able to buy him everything he needed, but there was nothing left over!Then she got herself a Walmart Credit Card. After she got this card she asked me if I'd prefer a JC Penney card or a Walmart card for holidays and back to school shopping.I told her I'd prefer the Walmart card. I can get more for the money, and I see no sense in buying expensive clothes for my kids that they're just going to outgrow in a few months.Which would you have chosen and why? | |
| | Have you ever gotten lost when you were a kid while out with your parents? | | I have when I was out shopping with my dad and his wife. I was 4 and we were in a shopping center in Singapore. I was so fascinated by this doll I saw which was displayed in a window in one of the stores, that I let go of my dad's hand and went into the store. It took awhile before I realized that I had wandered away from my dad. I started to cry and I remember the lady at the store rushed me to the receptionist's desk at the shopping center and paged my dad. I was so relieved when I saw my dad coming towards me. | | J C Penney - Call Center | | I have a question for everyone who works outside the home. This question is mainly for the US employees. Isn't it against the law to be fired if you have a doctors note, and or used against your personal record? My daughter had a kidney stone problem and was in the emergency room Saturday morning from 2:30am to almost 7am. She was suppose to go to work that day but the doctor gave her a note to stay home for at least two days. She was off on Sunday and Monday Thank God. She went back to work today still in pain because there are more kidney stones on the left side. She gave her boss all the paperwork and the doctors note to show her it was all legit. She says ok but one more occurence and you will be dismissed. Can you believe a company like JC Penney's would treat their employees so bad. If you accidently sign out one minute earlier then you are suppose to, its considered early dismal which is used against you. Well JC Penney's hasn't fired my daughter yet but they have definitely lost me as a customer. | |
| | Everything's available on the internet | | Maybe not everything...But seriously, I was looking for the same picture frame that I had gotten for Dearra, a frame where you put in photos for every month for their first year. The store I bought it at didn't have it any more. I couldn't find it at a frame store. I looked at the one I already had, got the company name, looked it up online and there it was!My favorite jeans, well they're getting a bit worn and JC Penney doesn't carry them any more. I went online and there they were.My German letters that I'm translating (well I need to get back to them) - I found the script that they were written in on the internet and I was able to look up all the towns that were being talked about and actually see pictures of what they look like, their history, etc.The old book I got from my mom brought up a whole story of a very interesting man and a printing press and a crafter's group in New York, all on the internet.Most of the time if I need something I can go over to Google or Yahoo or whatever and with a little searching, there it is. Who would have thought, 20 or 30 years ago, that we would have so much information at our fingertips?Have you ever been unable to... | |
