| | Get a $500 gift card | | Do you take surveys? I tried this one and the banner said "get a $500 gift card for Target stores" Simply fill out the form, Will I did that and as soon as I clicked the submit button it then tells me to fill out the next page which has about 20 offers for everything I dont need. Granted, it says you dont have to take any of them just click the "no" button, but of course they have all the "yes" buttons clicked first, so if you miss one your takeing an offer. So I click no on all of them and submit, which just takes you to another page of 20 more offers, I do the same here and submit, now comes all the same stuff I just said no to except now you just have to click a "skip" button, I make sure to delete all my info first, now comes another page exactly the same, I click skip again. Now the last page is another "Get a $500 gift card" but for adifferent store "Macys", And this time there is no skip button, only a continue button. So I just exited. Has anyone seen these? Im sure I will never see my Target gift card, is there a way to actualy get the "FREE" card without buying anything, or getting caught is a "take offers" paradox? | |
| | Have you ever won anything? | | My niece one a $500.00 gift card yesterday! It was one of those in-store contest when you get a scratch off type card. Sometimes you will get 10% or 20% off your purchase...other times you will get some free products. Well, I guess yesterday was her lucky day! FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS!!Guess what store she was in...Victoria Secrets! lolShe's 22 years old, so I'm sure she'll make good use of it. I don't think I've ever won a contest, but I am happy for those who have. | |

| Pay Attention toThose Surveys I won $500.00 | | Yesterday I went to Home Depot to pick up a garden tool kit they had on sale and when I went in they asked me to fill out this survey thing when I finished. Well I usually don't even mess with the things but seeing as the line was slow and long and I had to stand there and wait, I half filled it out checking this and that not really paying attention to what I was doing. I dropped it in the box when I left and they called this morning. I won!!!!! I won a $500.00 shopping spree at Home Depot! I am so excited! I never win things. Admittedly I feel a little bad because I didn't take that survey serious at all![em]blush[/em]I was just killing time while I waited. As a matter of fact I almost didn't put my phone number on it because I didn't want a bunch of annoying calls![em]whistle[/em]
It was a $500.00 gift card that has to be used within 6 months. Have you won anything lately? What would you buy with a $500.00 gift card from Home Depot?
| | Woman is suing Best Buy for $54 Million! | | It seems that Best Buy lost this woman's laptop when she took it in for repair. They hemmed and hawed and finally fessed up that they didn't know what happened to it. They gave her $1,110.35 and a $500 gift card for her inconvenience. That would have paid for a new laptop. And now she wants to sue them for $54 million? Give me a break! This is nuts!

| | Survey Scams | | Has anyone tried those survey places that say they pay you money to take survey's, and then the survey's turn out to be just signing up for things, and you have to sign up for things that cost money or you do not get "paid". I never went all the way through them, because I am not signing up for anything or paying for anything. I answer no to all the questions and then I always get to a page where it says "you must answer yes to at least 1 question" meaning you must sign up for at least 1 thing. Thats where I always stop.
I was just wondering if anyone actually went all the way through and received anything for it? They always say they are going to send you a $500 gift card to Target, or a $500 gift card to Red Lobster or a designer hand bag just to name a few.

| $500 "gift" for all newborns?! | | I just saw a blurb on the news that in California they are trying to pass legislation to give all newborns a $500 savings account when they are born. It doesn't matter whether the parents are here legally or not. The idea is to start all these kids out with a "nest egg" and when they turn 18 they have to pay the $500 back but get to keep whatever interest. I think it's kind of a dumb idea. Unless the parents aren't allowed to touch it who says the money will still be there when the kid turns 18? It was reproted this program would cost California taxpayers $285 Million a year. Wouldn't that money be better spent on programs to help children in poverty? Maybe on education and work programs for less fortunate parents? DOes anyone else out there have any idea how this would work? It seems like an awfully complicated program to monitor and regulate. | |
| | Online Ads | | I was just wanting to know my IQ so I took the test. The next thing I realized, I was led to these several websites offering $500 gift cards, plasma TVs and so on. Man, was I tempted. I spent at least an hour trying to fill out forms until I got tired and just closed all the windows. And I never got to learn how much I got for that IQ test.
Do you ever pay attention to those online offers? Have you clicked on something that actually worked without asking for your SSN or credit card number? How do you feel about these pop-ups?
