| | Pass on the blessings.... | | On Sunday we decided to take our kids out to eat, and after trying to decide where to eat our youngest son said let's go to Applebees. I had taken them there once during the month of January while waiting to register for class at the college. Sometimes it's really hard to be able to dine out with five kids ranging from 4-10 years old. When we got there we quickly were put in a booth with a chair at the end. We were there no more than 20 minutes when a man came up to our table and gave us a $5 gift card. I didn't know what it was until I saw it was this gift card. I felt so blessed that someone would just walk up to a stranger to bless them. When we left we gave the server a $5.00 tip. She was so nice to us, treated our kids really good and didn't question if we wanted to share some of our dishes. I thought God had blessed us so it was only fair to pass on some of the blessings. | | What to do? | | So i have a two month old baby and his father and i are not together but he does visit once a week.
i depend on him to bring me diapers and wipes because i can't work yet and i am living with my family who are broke until the 1st of the month. Now this man has a very successful job, drives around in a porche, golfs at the country club well he shows up the other day empty handed and when i ask him for a few dolars he says he forgot his wallet. well by luck i had a $5 gift card and was able to get a small bag of diapers that would last a few days but now it has twindled down and come monday i will need diapers. | | Crash, Boom, Bang... | | When I got home last night from work, I discovered my bed and the floor covered in boxes. My cats were evidently playing on them and knocked them all over. Now, even though this was rather aggravating, a couple of good things came out of it. For one thing, I found a pitcher I had been looking for and the travel coffee mug I had also been looking for. What was even more of a surprise this morning was that when I unwrapped the coffee mug which had been a gift from my former employer two years ago, I opened up the mug to clean it and discovered a $5 gift card for Starbucks. That was a nice surprise! I didn't find any expiration date on it so I'm assuming it is still good.So, in effect, the cats did me a favor even though cleaning up all of the cassette tapes that fell out of a box wasn't fun. And, of course, they all looked at me with innocent little faces like they didn't have a clue why I was annoyed with them. | |
